How Janet Reno Abused My Son and Daughter
An Investigation of the Attorney General's Past is Warranted:
There are things about the Attorney General of the United States that need to be very carefully looked into. While the erstwhile Attorney General was serving as Florida's State Attorney for Dade County, a veritable multitude of fathers who were being
denied visitation contrary to Court orders begged, pleaded and petitioned that office for enforcement of felony statutes against visitational interference. The reason that laws against moms concealing the whereabouts of children from their fathers were
never enforced is that Ms. Reno had prioritized the persecution of "deadbeat dads." That is the term Janet Reno used - and continues to use - to describe fathers who are unable to pay punitive fatherhood fines. Most often these men cannot hold steady jobs
due to their suffering from chronic depression. This is a predictable result of them not being allowed to see their children.
Whether Ms. Reno was even aware of the many requests that dozens of her staff, including her chief prosecutor, John Hogan, refused to so much as investigate, the key word linking Ms. Reno to the policy of selective enforcement is one that she herself seems
fond of; "accountability."
Unfortunately for her, visitational interference is not the only felony statute on the books in Florida that Ms. Reno may be linked to; it is also a felony in that state to "contribute to the mental injury of a minor child." [F.S. 827.04 (2)]. If so much
as one child has suffered anguish over being deprived of their father's love and guidance because of her agency's gender biased refusal to go after mothers who criminally abducted their children with the same fervor with which she persecuted the so-called
"deadbeat dads," the former State's Attorney could very well be found guilty of violating that statute by means of nonfeasance or culpable negligence.
This writer knows of at least two children who have suffered such anguish; they are my own son and daughter. I am a deadbeat dad. While I have found it nearly impossible to get any information regarding my children, what I have been able to learn is far
more disturbing than is the fact that my children and I have been unable to enjoy each other's company.
My son, now eleven years old, attempted suicide no less than three times during the period when Janet Reno was State Attorney for Dade County. During that period I was in regular contact with a long list of people in her office in attempts to have Court
orders for regular visitation enforced.
All such requests were summarily refused. In the words of Ms. Reno's chief assistant, "we have more important things to do." As if I could be made to believe that anything in the world was more important than my children!
Unfortunately, the case involving my own children is not the only such case that I am aware of. Reno's vendetta against fathers has taken a toll, not only on the male parents of South Florida, but on innumerable children as well. Janet Reno seems to have
an inexplicably enormous chip on her shoulder when it comes to men.
Reno and I were neighbors in Cutler Ridge and I know men that count her among their friends. At least one friend of mine sails and plays tennis with her and speaks highly of her as a person. She is also credited with prioritizing the well being of
children. Unfortunately, her most notable service to children was the above mentioned fervor with which she enforced the collection of so-called "child support." As often as not, the proceeds from these fatherhood fines have no effect on the children or
their well being. Instead, the proceeds go mostly to reimburse the State for food stamps received by the children's mothers - often illegally. The fines themselves are little more than arbitrary punitive measures against male parents for expressing a
desire to be involved in their children's lives.
At one time I was contacted by a state social worker, who identified herself as being from Janet Reno's office, in regard to my failure to pay child support. When I informed the social worker that the order for child support was based on A.F.D.C. that my
(then) wife was receiving under fraudulent terms, the matter was dropped. Later, when I learned that I could get a public defender to represent me, I called that same social worker and others in the child support enforcement office to try and have the
case reopened.
Since Janet Reno's office had indeed verified that my wife had filed for food stamps claiming to have sole custody of the children, when court records showed shared custody, and that she had claimed to be a single head of household when she was living with
and being supported by her boyfriend, I was told to, "please stop calling us, you know we can't prosecute you." The fact was that I could have and should have been prosecuted, but that would have meant that the children's mother would have eventually
faced charges on food stamp fraud.
Janet Reno reveres her mother, and there is nothing wrong with that. But all mothers are not so sainted as her own. For her to have allowed so many children to suffer in the name of protecting mothers while punishing fathers - all based on some unknown
gender based agenda - is a crime against children that needs to be thoroughly investigated - and punished! |
