Professional Experience:
Highplains Artworks (FFL)
Pistolsmith, Firearm Designer - 2001 through Present through Present
In concert with my wife Artist Karin Wolf, I design and build custom pistols for concealed carry, competition, collecting and combat. The pistols we craft have no sharp edges or pointy protrusions; they are smooth to the touch and draw smoothly from holster or pocket while offering a firm, secure grip.
I do not employ the use of any machinery or mechanical devices in my pistolsmithing; all work is done by hand with the simplest of hand tools. Needle files, scrapers and extra-fine India stones assure the most precise fit possible. Personalization and decorative embellishments are likewise hand engraved by Artist Karin.
We cannot mass-produce these individual works of art. Some take a year or more to complete. If you've always desired a very special personal or gift weapon, though, Artist Karin's museum grade engraving and precision inlays of copper, brass, fine silver or white, yellow, green or rose 24 karat gold - together with my own tediously hand fitted bushing, barrel, hammer, sear, safety, spring and trigger components - are well worth the wait!
