Big Bang or Magic Dragon?

Was this amazing and expanding UniVerse in which we live "created" by an explosion of some sort? If so, what was it that exploded? Was some mystical OldMan responsible for the explosion, or was it an accident?

I'm here to tell you that if the big bang theory is the best that science can come up with, our species is in pretty sad shape intellectually and imaginatively!

Consider what I like to call the "Magic Dragon Theory" of the creation of the UniVerse:

Imagine - NOTHING... So much nothing that it begins to collapse in upon itself, not cataclysmically or in a violent implosion, but ever so gently - like the beginning of a gentle puff on a medicine pipe. Following through on the idea of a puff, imagine that the gentle inhalation of the nothingness lead to a similarly gentle expulsion of that same nothingness - the completion of the puff...

Our UniVerse expands in a slow, steady manner, like a cloud of smoke from a peace pipe. It does not follow the pattern of an explosion. As it expands, it swirls in random patterns like smoke, exhibiting the chaos within the system that allows for and comes from its own expansion.

The difference between a UniVerse that began with some sort of an explosion and a UniVerse that began with a gentle puff may seem insignificant. Until, that is, one takes into account the great disparity in mindset between those who are prone to think in the violent and destructive terms of explosive big bangs when compared to those prone to think in gentler imagry!

Was our little UniVerse created in a big, loud act of violence, or in a peaceful spirit of gentleness?

You decide.

I like to think it was created by Puff, the Magic Dragon.
